It’s been 365 days since I started working for a new company, in a new position, in the field of publishing. That’s the reason I’ve not been consistent with my own blog.
What I’ve learned about myself during the past year is, when I’m focused … I’m focused. I’ve saturated myself with knowledge of the publishing industry, while learning the “old” business while talking about the “new” business. And after 20 years of broadcast media zipping by me, and filling my noggin, I needed to stay focused on my task and not on my blog.
So, I’ve been learning for the past 365 days.
I’ve been testing.
I’ve been asking a lot of questions.
And I’m sure I’ve pissed someone off (actually, I’m 100% certain that I have.)
At this time last year, I gave myself this goal … After a year, to write down what I’ve learned.
And in no way did I expect to learn so much and feel so passionate about it. Seriously, there’s a lot. Glad I’m sponge.
I’ve decided that’s what I’ll write about on my blog, publishing … the old business, the new business, the print, the digital, and then some.
I think I’ll start now…
